We are seeking a Special Needs Teacher to work with young adults who have special needs, including non-verbal, autism, and disabilities. This role involves teaching small classes of 10-15 students, where each student is supported by their own learning coach. This position offers a competitive hourly rate and the potential for permanent employment.
Day-to-day of the role:- Deliver tailored educational activities to small groups of students with special needs.
- Collaborate with learning coaches to ensure each student’s educational and developmental needs are met.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students.
- Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining detailed records of achievements.
- Create a supportive, understanding, and inclusive environment that encourages student participation.
- A teaching qualification or SENDCO qualification is ideal.
- Strong experience in working with special needs education, particularly with non-verbal communication, autism, and disabilities.
- Ability to design and implement effective teaching strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
