Good Afternoon,

I am currently representing Merton Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate of 16.46 which is negotiable dependent upon experience.

We are looking for a Business Support Officer this role will be: SM4 5DX

The right candidate will:

  • To coordinate the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards process for each service-user, including maintaining an effective overview.
  • To be the first point of contact, receive and screen incoming referrals according tooperational procedures and ensure they are processed in a timely manner. Accept referrals and log on Mosaic.
  • To provide advice and guidance to partner agencies and Adult Social Care colleagues with respect to Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, seeking support from Best Interests Assessors / Supervisor as appropriate.
  • To provide initial screening and quality assurance of reports submitted by Best Interests Assessors and Section 12 Approved Doctors.
  • The role will include assisting with the processing and triaging of DOLS authorisation requests, appointing Mental Health Assessors and Best Interest Assessors, assisting with the quality assurance of documents received and communicating with providers and other professionals.

We require the following:

  • Good working knowledge of using IT packages including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
  • Accurate keyboard skills and experience or training in basic office administration.
  • Accurate data entry and amendments of information onto a database.
  • An understanding of the DOLS provisions of the MCA or willingness to learn.
