This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a highly supportive environment, working with students who require a tailored and nurturing approach to education. This role is ideal for anyone looking to take a step up into senior leadership, as you will play a key role in the strategic development of the school. You will need experience of taking on additional responsibilities beyond classroom teaching, such as pastoral leadership, curriculum development, or whole-school initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strong leadership and support to staff, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
  • Oversee key aspects of the school's pastoral care and behaviour management strategies.
  • Support the Headteacher in delivering the school's vision, policies, and development plans.
  • Work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure students receive the best possible support.
  • Drive whole-school improvement initiatives, particularly around curriculum development and student engagement.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are implemented effectively.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and leadership experience in a similar setting.
  • Proven track record of working within SEMH or alternative provision.
  • Experience of taking on additional responsibilities beyond classroom teaching.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire both staff and students.
  • A proactive approach to behaviour management and student well-being.
