Engagement Co-ordinator- Permanent, over 33 hours per week, working on a flexible rota. Morecambe.
Working for a leading provider of supported accommodation for vulnerable people across England, we are seeking a skilled Engagement Co-ordinator to support the delivery of the co-production strategy at one of their NW services, with a weekly programme of participation activities/ sessions.
Working at the service for young people aged 16-24, this role will include ensuring that you are collaborating with and utilising the skills of the young people, other colleagues and across other services.
The role:
- Ensure that the sessions that are delivered are dynamic, educational, practical and provide an opportunity to develop a variety of talents, skills and knowledge while the young person is on their journey at the service. This may include but is not limited to :Sports/ fitness, Cooking, Consultation, Arts and crafts, Money management
- You will be responsible for ensuring the engagement of the young people will sessions and learning being delivered and help develop their skills.
- Development of independent living skills
- Practical employability sessions e.g. CV writing, interview techniques.
- External trips and events
- Job fayres
- Opportunities to engage with education
- Specialist practitioners e.g. life coach/ yoga teacher/ personal trainers
- Attending Residential away from the service where required
- Deliver topics and sessions on Equality & Diversity & Inclusion, safeguarding, hate crime, Respect and personal values and beliefs.
The ideal candidate:
- Have the ability to work in a proactive way and look for events for young people to engage in within the local and wider community.
- Plan and deliver participation with these events and represent the service - having a positive attitude and approach at all times
- Have a good understanding and knowledge of working with young people who may present with a learning disability, autism and homelessness.
- Be flexible to work unsociable hours which may include early, day and evening shifts plus weekends and occasional residential events away.
- Be able to engage positively with the young people and have experience of or skills and interests in various areas including sports, music, education, access to employment, photography etc.
- Be able to work confidently and raise the profiles of the young people by establishing, developing relationships with local community services to help provide access to opportunities for the young people.
