Year 3 Teaching Assistant (Full-Time, SEN One-to-One Support)

Salary: £14.20 per hour

Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a Year 3 pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and behavioural challenges. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in a child's educational journey, working as part of a supportive and dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored one-to-one support for a pupil with SEN and behavioural needs, ensuring they are fully engaged in learning activities.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering the curriculum and adapting materials to meet the pupil's individual needs.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies, promoting positive behaviour and emotional development.
  • Support the development of social skills and encourage active participation in classroom and school activities.
  • Maintain clear communication with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents/guardians regarding the pupil's progress.
  • Keep detailed records of the pupil's learning, development, and behaviour.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children with SEN and behavioural needs (desirable but not essential).
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and a patient, empathetic approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
