Role Overview:

Looking for a role where you can make a real impact on children with special educational needs? Our client is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their outstanding school, supporting students aged 5-19 with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, PMLD, and Epilepsy.

Working Hours:

  • Term-time only: 39 weeks per year
  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
  • Tuesday: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
  • Friday: 8:30 am - 3:45 pm (early finish)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with complex learning needs in both academic and personal development.
  • Assist teaching staff in planning and delivering customized lessons and activities.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Implement individualized education plans, behavior, and personal care strategies.
  • Occasionally assist with personal care and medication administration (training provided).

Experience and Skills:

  • Previous experience in education and/or care settings is desirable.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Effective communication skills with young people with learning disabilities.
  • Proficiency in ICT and ability to work well in a team.

Ideal Candidates:

  • Passionate about providing opportunities for children and young people to "live life to the full."
  • Experienced in roles such as Tutor, Teacher, Learning Instructor, SEN Teaching Assistant, or Learning Assistant.
