We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to join a busy HR team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. Based near Nantwich, you will play a key role in supporting payroll operations across multiple payrolls, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing the weekly payrolls.
  • Support monthly payroll processing and reporting.
  • Respond to payroll queries from managers and employees via email and phone.
  • Collect, calculate, and input payroll data accurately.
  • Check the accuracy of payments and statutory deductions.
  • Process PAYE/NIC, statutory payments, tax code changes, and court orders.
  • Record and calculate absence leave and payments.
  • Monitor and coordinate workplace pension submissions.
  • Administer company benefits and process related documentation.
  • Work closely with Accounts to provide payroll reports.
  • Upload payslips and P45s to the system.
  • Process BACS payments to HMRC for PAYE.
  • Provide general administrative support to the wider team as required.

About You

  • Previous payroll experience is essential.
  • Strong numeracy skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • A team player with a professional and positive attitude.
