A unique company is seeking candidates for a mechanical engineering role that requires a Mechanical Trade Apprenticeship or a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, or 5 years of relevant experience.
The position involves ensuring safety, participating in safety initiatives, and performing mechanical work while collaborating with the Mechanical Workshop Coordinator and Shift Production Leader.
Candidates must be willing to work days for training before transitioning to a 3-shift schedule, including AM, PM, and nights, with overtime and call-out responsibilities as needed.
The role offers a salary of £40,000 per year along with benefits such as 34 days of annual leave, a pension plan, and gym membership reductions.

Your main role will be to :

ensure personal and team safety and promote this culture.
participate in departmental and site safety initiatives.
undertake all mechanical work as required.
work closely and in collaboration with the Mechanical Workshop Coordinator and the Workshop Leader.
liaise with the Shift Production Leader on production priorities.
comply with all Standard Working Practices (SWP's) and permits to work where appropriate.
monitor the Engineering Requests (ER's) and carry out appropriate tasks.
carry out plant checks as defined.
- when necessary, work overtime and planned shutdowns.
- when requested be prepared to attend the work site out of normal working hours to address issues of safety, security or production equipment breakdowns.
participation in the Engineering call out system.
comply with the company and engineering quality procedures.
comply with the Company's Code of Conduct

You will need:

a Mechanical Trade Apprenticeship
a Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (or 5 years experience in mechanical engineering)
a forklift licence is desirable
