The Role:We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with various special educational needs, both in and outside the classroom. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about making a real difference in the lives of young learners within a thriving SEN college in New Malden

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEN in their learning and development.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of differentiated lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support tailored to individual needs.
  • Help students with personal care and mobility as required.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor student progress.
  • Encourage positive behavior and social interaction within the school environment.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all students.

About You:

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with special educational needs, is preferred but not essential.
  • Live within a commutable distance to New Malden
  • A caring and empathetic nature with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, flexible, and committed to supporting the needs of students.
  • A positive approach to learning and a passion for working with young people.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Teaching Assistant, SEN or Childcare related) is desirable but not essential.
