The Role:

Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated and experienced KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic mainstream primary school in New Malden, Kingston Upon Thames (KT3). Starting on 7th March 2025, this role will involve supporting pupils across KS2, working closely with teachers to enhance learning experiences and providing targeted interventions where needed.

The school is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive TA who can build positive relationships with students, provide academic and emotional support, and contribute to a vibrant learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for KS2 students who require additional help
  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging and interactive lessons
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage positive learning attitudes
  • Support literacy, numeracy, and personal development activities
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCo to implement individual support plans
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working in a KS2 setting, ideally in a mainstream primary school
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and staff
  • A patient, positive, and adaptable approach to supporting children's learning
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
