Responsibilities and duties of the HSE Manager role


Reporting to the Project Director, you will:


  • Lead all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities across the project, ensuring compliance with CDM2015 and the clients integrated management system.

  • Develop and maintain the Construction Phase Plan and Environmental Management Plan throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Ensure adherence to the client's Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Standards, updating action plans as necessary.

  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and investigations to drive a zero-incident safety culture.

  • Deliver health, safety, and environmental training to site teams.

  • Oversee compliance with environmental regulations, including waste management and pollution control.

  • Provide technical advice to the project team and liaise with stakeholders to ensure best practices are followed.


Professional qualifications


We are looking for someone with the following:


  • BSc/NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.

  • 8-10 years of experience in HSE, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role within a high-risk environment (water, petrochemical, or power industries preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation, including RIDDOR and environmental compliance.
