SEN Teaching Assistant | Newark, NG24 | 95 - 105 per day | Mon-Fri, 8:30 - 16:30 | ASAP Start

Long Term Futures is working with a specialist school in the Newark (NG24) area on this exciting opportunity for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant.

In this role, you will support young people with autism spectrum disorders and associated conditions. The school provides a calm and caring environment, ensuring each pupil receives an individualised learning experience tailored to their needs.

What Will My Role Involve?

  • Supporting individuals or small groups in the classroom under the guidance of teaching staff.
  • Implementing planned learning activities and adjusting them based on student responses.
  • Assisting students with special educational needs and/or those for whom English is an additional language.
  • Monitoring student progress and reporting to relevant staff.
  • Supporting pupils' social and emotional well-being throughout the school day.

How Can I Be Successful?

  • Experience working with SEN students is desirable.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting learning.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and professionals.
  • A proactive attitude in adapting to students' individual needs.
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant experience across more than one provision would be highly advantageous.
