Smart4Chemicals are looking to recruit a Development Technologist for a leading composite materials manufacturer in the Nottinghamshire area.

To be considered for the role of Development Technologist you must be degree educated as a minimum in materials science, chemistry, polymer chemistry or a similar subject. You must also have experience in industry in working with resins.

As a Development Technologist you will be responsible for leading and delivering R&D projects, supporting product development and ensuring quality standards are complied with across all areas of responsibility.

Role requirements

  • Degree educated in materials science, polymer chemistry, chemistry or a closely related subject. PhD highly desirable.
  • Previous industrial experience in working with composite materials. Ideally, 2+ years and for aerospace or automotive applications.
  • Hands on experience with various analytical techniques used for resin development and formulation.
  • Any experience in being able to develop prepreg formulations is beneficial for the role.

Role responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver R&D projects within time and budget scope.
  • Identify new potential technological improvements and areas of potential development in-line with companies business strategy and plans for growth with the aerospace and automotive industry.
  • Hands-on involvement in product launch and related marketing activities.
  • Assist the company with the creation of product development objectives.
