Job Title: Graduate Quantity SurveyorLocation: NG22 0PQSector: Construction / ManufacturingType: PermanentSalary: £26,000 - £29,000Sutton Recruitment are working exclusively to recruit a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join a leading company who specialises in the production of innovative precast reinforced, pre-stressed and post-tensioned concrete products.As the largest independent producer of pre-stressed bridge beams in Britain, who offer a comprehensive range of beam profiles as well as bespoke reinforced and post-tensioned products developed and tailored to the needs of individual projects.As the Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will work under the direction of the Senior Quantity Surveyor. Duties & Responsibilities • Assist with sub-contracted procurement and commercial management on designated projects• Manage and control of sub-contractor accounts and variation accounts• Assist and liaise with the buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunities• Manage the day to day cost controls, monitoring and reporting on designated projects• Develop an understanding of the designated contract, specification and pricing ensuring compliance with conditions throughout• Work with the Project Manager with sub-contractor selection and assist with ensuring the chosen sub-contractor has the appropriate order and information to carry out their work• Discuss contractual issues with the Project Manager• Measure project progress, submit valuations, final accounts and retention releases and monitor receipt of payments• Process sub-contractor requests for payments• Support the commercial management team with compilation for monthly cost/valuation reports and cash flow to designated projects• Where appropriate, assist with estimates and negotiations on future projects• Manage and collate monthly KPI data information• Identify, record and price compensation events, variations and additional works and labour variances• Maintain databases and electronic filing using the in-house PIM system Knowledge, Experience & Skills• Good knowledge of Microsoft office suite, specifically Excel & Project• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail verbal & written• Full Driver’s License and own car all mileage is paid for business travel• Ability to manage time and workflow of projects efficiently• Building effective working relations with people at all levels across our company and externallyQualifications• Desired – Quantity Surveying Degree• HNC/HND Qualification with surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction/Project ManagementWhat’s on offer• Monday to Friday, 08:00am – 17:00pm (30 minute lunch un-paid)• 20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays (Birthday off)• Nest Pension; 3% client, 5% employee To be suitable for this role, you must have a full driving license and your own vehicle to begin with.
