Situation

Ford & Stanley are partnered with a civil and structural engineering consultancy that specialise in structural investigations, inspections & more. Operating on projects throughout England, Scotland & Wales, they require a predominantly site-based Project Supervisor who will be responsible for planning/leading site work, ensuring projects are completed on time and in full, whilst also physically carrying out technical works and investigations (whilst supported by other surveying specialists).

Opportunity

Our client are looking for an experienced, Site Supervisor/Project Manager to take control of buildings-based structural inspections, investigations, and testing.

This opportunity will give someone a well varied position, allowing them to work on a wide range of projects and buildings, e.g., Residential, Commercial, Industrial, educational, and healthcare-based premises. There could also be cross-over with other areas of the wider group meaning you will be exposed to different sector area’s such as Rail & Highways.

With a strong pipeline of relatively short term, and quick turnaround projects, the successful candidate can expect each week to look different. You will work with some of the industry’s most up to date equipment and software and use your technical mindset and experience to offer your expertise to the clients.

You will be the senior member on site, also responsible for team management and development. This opportunity is well suited to someone who wants to see themselves progress into more senior managerial roles, as the team grow’s larger in the future.

Location

  • Offices in Chesterfield and Ilkeston. Ideally commutable to one of these offices at least once a week.
  • Clients are based Nationwide. This role will require working away from home throughout the week including potential stay overs.

Salary & Benefits

  • £35,000 - £45,000 salary
  • Overtime paid varying between 1.25x – 2.0 x pay depending on day & time

Essential Criteria

  • Extensive experience in building fabrics/building surveying
  • Experience in Site Supervision within a construction Environment. Qualifications based around Civil/Structural Engineering, or General Construction would be highly beneficial
  • Full UK driving license & happy with nationwide travel.
  • Relevant site tickets e.g., CSCS, SSSTS/SMSTS, First Aider, IPAF/PASMA.
  • Someone that shows motivation, initiative, and a logical mindset.
  • Solid numerical and literacy skills.
  • Ability to work away from home during the week
