We are looking for an experienced Inspection Technician (Newbury area) distributor of electronic and electrical components to carry out tasks that support the process and inspection of products throughout the warehouse, ensuring accurate records of product receipts and location movements are maintained. The salary ranges from 24,000 to 25,000, depending on experience, and can increase to 27,000 based on experience.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Visually inspect all incoming products based on defined inspection criteria for defects, and ensure that all inspection findings are documented, including photographic records that accurately represent the full characteristics of the received product.
  • Identify defects, document and report nonconforming products in Global Trader, and handle such products as per disposition instructions within the procedure.
  • Ensure proper storage and location of all products, and accurately update and maintain electronic stock locations in Global Trader.
  • Pick products according to the daily priority list.
  • Adhere to ESD precautions when handling products.
  • Plan, develop, and execute the Enhanced Inspection process using all relevant equipment on electronic components, such as Visual inspection, Mechanical inspection, X-ray inspection, XRF inspection, electrical checks using an Abi sentry, LCR or multi-meter, solderability testing, and decapsulation and die inspection.
  • Develop and conduct checks to authenticate electronic components.
  • Create and maintain enhanced inspection documentation, including work instructions and inspection reports.
  • Provide technical support to the quality department.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are properly maintained, including calibration.
  • Adhere to all internal procedures to maintain quality certifications.
  • Participate in investigations of returned products and failure analysis.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
  • Interpret and comprehend data sheets and technical documents.
  • Maintain a tidy work area and practice good housekeeping.
