Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing the role is focused on continuing to grow and support the Business Development team by managing and maintaining some existing customers, producing high quality leads and working as a team towards agreed set targets and profitable goals. We would also expect the role to provide an elevated level of sales support by ensuring all queries are responded to in an efficient, professional, and timely manner.

Principal Duties:

  • Execute the Company’s sales strategies and achieve established sales quota by identifying business opportunities through account prospecting and profiling.
  • Thoroughly assess the customer’s needs and present an appropriate sales solution to assist the customer in recognizing the technological and business need for new company products and the advantages.
  • Provide effective sales presentations/product demonstrations to prospective customer management, including hosting Company site visits if necessary. Must be able to work alongside new company channel partners.
  • Prepare appropriate sales order paperwork to ensure purchase order reflects appropriate configuration/ solution for the customer.
  • Manage the order process through established internal acceptance procedures to ensure sign-off by Sales, Ordering and outsourced installation Departments.
  • Provide the sales management team with accurate and timely reporting of activities including weekly and monthly sales forecasts, the status of the sales pipeline and results of prospecting activities.
  • Maintain a thorough on-going knowledge of New Company products and technology, as well as industry trends.
  • Identifying new opportunities, produce leads and book appointments for the Director of Business Development.
  • Manage the database to a high degree of accuracy to ensure targeted marketing activity can take place to generate new business
  • Work closely with the marketing team to achieve agreed objectives
  • Consult effectively with all departments within to ensure that customer requirements are met
  • Contribute to the team performance by sharing and implementing best practice ideas
  • Customer credit checking for all prospects and existing customers
  • Providing quotations to customers
  • Consulting with our Vendors on pricing and stock
  • Updating Customers with stock availability lead times and general deliveries

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years working within a sales environment preferably within an initiative-taking telemarketing role within a similar industry
  • Excellent telephone skills
  • High degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise issues
  • Must be able to deal with technical product information
  • Ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to persuade, influence and negotiate effectively at all levels within and outside the organisation
