We are looking for an Estimator to join a young, growing contracting business from their head office near Newbury.

They were established 10 years ago by a group of experienced tier 1 professionals and are set up and managed with tier 1 professionalism alongside independent agility. They turnover in excess of £40 million and target schemes between £1 and £10 million and have achievable turnover and profit targets for the next 5 years. They have a healthy mix of clients from private developers to local authorities and health care trusts and a significant amount is repeat negotiated work alongside regional and local opportunities and competitive tendering for specific targeted projects in the residential, social housing, education and care marketplaces.

The role is to join an existing preconstruction team and work on single stage and negotiated tenders.

Traditional duties will include identification of clients/projects, cost analysis, production of bills of quantities, liaison with architects and engineers, sending out and dealing with tender enquiries, dealing with existing supply chain and interviewing and appraisal of new contractors to help and work with the delivery teams, identify cost and programme savings. Experience of doing your own take offs and using Conquest software packages would be an advantage.

You will be part of a wider precon department and be expected to work with the existing bid manager, design team, commercial and delivery teams to build and implement best practice procedures to drive the business forward.

The role will be based from the offices near Newbury and they do operate a hybrid working policy which is based on the needs and priorities of the business from a week to week basis as agreed with the senior management team.

The role is to join as an Estimator and increase workload turnover and profitability with the long term plan to build and grow the team and you will take the lead and recruit, train and manage your own team in the future.
