An established mechanical engineering Contractor, specializing in the design and implementation of HVAC and Plumbing & heating systems for specialized environments such as laboratories and clean rooms. Projects are primarily in the Berkshire area, catering to the pharmaceutical, biotech, and advanced manufacturing sectors. They pride themselves on delivering high-quality, precise, and innovative design & build solutions that meet the stringent environmental and regulatory requirements of these industries.

Job Description:

They are seeking a HVAC BIM Technician with a strong focus on laboratories and clean room environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed, accurate, and coordinated 3D models for HVAC systems within these specialized spaces. Working closely with design engineers, project managers, and clients, you will ensure that the HVAC models meet both project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage detailed 3D BIM models for HVAC systems in laboratories and clean rooms, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

Coordinate with engineers, and other trades to ensure an integrated design approach across all building systems.

Create and maintain accurate, data-rich BIM models using Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and other industry-standard software.

Implement and adhere to project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and workflows, ensuring all BIM deliverables are met on time.

Collaborate with project managers and design teams to provide clash detection and resolve issues early in the design process.

Prepare 2D/3D design documentation and drawings for internal review and client submissions.

Support project teams by providing technical guidance on HVAC systems for labs and clean rooms, ensuring compliance with ISO standards and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).

Conduct quality checks and reviews of BIM models to ensure accuracy and adherence to industry standards (BS EN ISO 14644 for clean rooms, etc.).

Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in BIM and HVAC systems for specialized environments.

Qualifications & Skills:

Proven experience as an HVAC BIM Technician, with a focus on laboratories, clean rooms, and controlled environments.

Proficiency in BIM software, particularly Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD MEP.

Strong knowledge of HVAC design principles and clean room standards (ISO 14644, ASHRAE guidelines, GMP, etc.).

Familiarity with BIM Level 2 and other UK BIM standards.

Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to coordinate across disciplines and resolve conflicts in model designs.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information clearly.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred:

Degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or related field.

Experience working on large-scale laboratory, pharmaceutical, or healthcare projects.

Knowledge of local regulations and industry requirements in the Berkshire area and across the UK.

Understanding of sustainability standards and practices in HVAC design (LEED, BREEAM).
