Are you a passionate and skilled Social Worker or Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) looking to make a difference in adult mental health services? Join West Berkshire’s Mental Health Team, where you will play a key role in supporting individuals with complex mental health needs, promoting recovery, and ensuring their safety and well-being.

About the Role

As a Social Worker / AMHP in Mental Health, you will work with adults experiencing severe and enduring mental health conditions. You will provide assessment, intervention, and safeguarding support, helping individuals access the right care and services. If you are an AMHP or working towards AMHP qualification, this role offers the opportunity to undertake Mental Health Act assessments and crisis interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of adults with mental health conditions, providing person-centred support and intervention.
  • Undertake assessments under the Care Act 2014, ensuring individuals receive appropriate care and services.
  • Work in partnership with health professionals, housing, voluntary organisations, and families to coordinate support.
  • Provide safeguarding interventions and risk assessments to protect vulnerable adults.
  • If an AMHP, carry out Mental Health Act assessments and emergency interventions in collaboration with mental health services.
  • Promote recovery-focused approaches, enabling individuals to live independently and maintain their well-being.
About You

? A qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.? Experience in adult mental health, crisis intervention, or community mental health services.? Knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act.? If an AMHP, ability to undertake Mental Health Act assessments and work effectively in crisis situations.? Strong assessment, risk management, and decision-making skills.? A commitment to empowering individuals and promoting recovery.
