Behaviour Mentor/Learning Support Assistant

Great team environment, great rates of pay! £100 to £130 depending upon experience!

Newbury area, immediate start, permanent position available for the right person! 

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join our team at a special needs school in Newbury. This role offers a temporary to permanent opportunity for the right candidate, providing a chance to make a significant impact in the lives of students with special educational needs.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Work closely with students who have behavioural challenges, providing one-to-one support and group interventions.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies that are effective and promote a safe learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create behaviour plans that address individual student needs.
  • Monitor and record student progress, adapting strategies as needed to facilitate positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Participate in training and development sessions to enhance your skills and understanding of best practices in behaviour management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably within a special needs education setting. Ideally SEMH or ASC but it's more about what you can offer in terms of life experience and your personality!
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies tailored to children with special educational needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive and patient approach, with a commitment to positively impacting the lives of students.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
