We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join our team at a special needs school in Newbury. This role offers a temporary to permanent opportunity for the right candidate, providing a chance to make a significant impact in the lives of students with special educational needs.
Day-to-day of the role:- Work closely with students who have behavioural challenges, providing one-to-one support and group interventions.
- Implement behaviour management strategies that are effective and promote a safe learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create behaviour plans that address individual student needs.
- Monitor and record student progress, adapting strategies as needed to facilitate positive behaviour and engagement.
- Participate in training and development sessions to enhance your skills and understanding of best practices in behaviour management.
- Experience in a similar role, preferably within a special needs education setting. Ideally SEMH or ASC but it's more about what you can offer in terms of life experience and your personality!
- Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies tailored to children with special educational needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
- A proactive and patient approach, with a commitment to positively impacting the lives of students.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
