Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide long term support and supervision for students with special needs in the absence of their regular teacher.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe and supportive atmosphere.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children with special needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining strong relationships.
  • Ability to manage and support students with varying needs effectively.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for education.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education is highly desirable.
