Our client, a leading provider of education and care for children and young people in Newbury, is currently seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join their Ofsted-rated 'Good' school on a permanent contract. The school is committed to supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teacher to join our team in Newbury. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing tailored support and education to a small class size of between 4 and 6 KS2/3 students with complex Autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of students with SEND.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that promotes positive behavior and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students, providing regular feedback to both students and parents or guardians.
  • Work closely with external agencies and professionals to support the holistic development of students.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, establishing trust and promoting their social and emotional growth.

Requirements:

  • QTS/QTLS or possess a Certificate in Education.
  • Experience working with students with Autism is highly desirable.
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
