Role purpose

Support the QHSE Manager in prevention of quality failures through maintaining robust systems and process.

Support the drive for quality engineering into our manufacturing processes using quality tools for corrective and preventative actions to improve process robustness and reduce/minimise inspection.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the QHSE Manager with continuous improvement of the companies QHSE management programme and systems.

Quality Lead on Project specific contracts Up front requirements, support through manufacture & In process and final documentation.

Assists with implementation of new or existing QHSE related legislation, guidelines, and company standards to include fire prevention, health and safety awareness training, site inspections and the management of any subcontract personnel.

To review and update company QHSE policies and procedures and maintain these systems.

To support prevention inspections and audit (internal and supplier) programs to agreed schedules and audits records are maintained. Support the QHSE Manager with audit reports, KPIs and that open audit actions are followed up effectively.

To work with production to reduce re-work and in-house inspection where not required.

To support the QHSE Manager with timely investigation of any accidents, accurate incident records and monthly reports and KPIs as required.

To provide information for the monthly QHSE communication process so that the QHSE Manager can ensure all levels of staff receive feedback of issues impacting the QHSE performance of the company including written information, toolbox talks and management briefs.

To support the QHSE Manager in retaining and adherence of all current quality accreditations and work towards the attainment of new quality accreditations, including but not limited to ISO 9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS ISO45001 and ISO3834 Part 2 certifications.

Support preparations for annual compliance audits to maintain certification, including non-conformances from previous audits are closed out and containment and corrective actions are implemented as required carrying out internal audits as requested.

Review, update, and manage the company QMS in line with the quality standards.

Supports customer and compliance audits of the QMS systems including any pre-audit questionnaire completion.

Provide support and expertise in investigation and reporting of QHSE issues as required.

Facilitate all forms of risk assessment e.g. general, manual handling, COSHH, fire prevention escalating to the QHSE Manager as required.

Provides information to the documentation control function to so that documentation packs are produced to customer requirements and in a timely manner.

Support manufacturing to meet customer requirements and improve processes.

Work as part of the team to develop and implement SOPs.

Supports customer service meetings or engaging customers directly if required.

Maintains the NCR system.

Helps drive a safety and quality first culture.

Skills & Experience.

Knowledge of Welding & fabrication processes.

Experience of quality control involving Machined components

Partnership building (internal and external users) with ability to interact with people at all levels within/external to the Company.

Visible and demonstrable QHSE Values

Strong planning and organising skills.

The ability to self-prioritise workload

Mon to Fri 37 hour week, half day on Friday's.
