Chef

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Salary: £28,163 - £30,060 pro rata, per annum

Facility Services and Civic Management work across the city and Gateshead providing building cleaning, caretaking, school meals and welfare catering services.

They have a large team of cleaners, cleaner supervisors, facility supervisors (caretakers), catering assistants, assistant chefs and chefs working various hours and shifts in schools and public buildings.

Their service is committed to delivering a high standard of service to their customers and in doing so investing in their staff and staff development.

The Role

They are currently looking for reliable and friendly person with a positive attitude to join their team as a Chef. It is essential you hold a minimum NVQ level 2 in Food Processing and Cooking or equivalent. You must also have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working within a busy catering environment. They are looking for someone who:

  • Has a Level 2 in Food Processing and Cooking (or equivalent)
  • Has experience of supervision or leadership of a team
  • Can manage and motivate others
  • Can deliver high standards of meal production and service
  • Can demonstrate good relationships with stakeholders
  • Is self-motivated and able to work to fixed deadlines
  • Can demonstrate high standards of customer service
  • Can develop and introduce new ideas for menus and foodservice
  • Has strong interpersonal skills and is positive, innovative and solution focused
  • Has experience of working in a catering environment
