As part of the Civil Engineering team, you will prepare reports, drawings, and specifications for development infrastructure, focusing on highway and drainage elements. You will create outline designs to secure planning approval and refine them for full technical approval and construction documentation. Leading the design development process, you will collaborate with clients, regulatory authorities, and the project team to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in engineering design.
- Proficiency in designing highway and drainage infrastructure using digital tools such as AutoCAD, Civils 3D, PDS, MicroDrainage, and Causeway Flow.
- Experience in producing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy reports, including the application of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).
- Familiarity with preparing highway designs according to local and national standards and managing S278/S38 agreements for work adoption.
- Expertise in detailed design of drainage networks and advancing schemes for adoption through S106 agreements.
- A solid understanding of design codes and standards.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with various stakeholders and comfort in attending client meetings.
- Experience in producing technical reports.
- Strong analytical skills to identify problems, develop innovative solutions, and make sound decisions in a competitive environment.
- Experience working within multi-disciplinary collaborative design teams.
