Are you an experienced Contracts Manager looking for a new challenge? Join our clients dynamic and fast-paced construction company based in Newcastle upon Tyne. They specialise in all aspects of commercial building works, including refurbishment, roofing works, and planned and reactive maintenance.

Summary

As a Contracts Manager, you will work closely with the site management team to ensure the successful execution of multiple projects according to the planned programme. Your role will involve close monitoring of progress to ensure all works are completed on time and within budget. You will be the primary contact for our clients and have overall responsibility for all projects from an administrative perspective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate site-specific work programmes
  • Monitor project progression and identify any variations
  • Collaborate with the contracts team for labour allocation
  • Arrange welfare and sanitation facilities where applicable
  • Order and arrange distribution of materials
  • Raise sub-contractor orders from the company-approved list
  • Maintain a good knowledge of H&S legislation, CDM, etc.
  • Undertake and monitor risk and COSHH assessments
  • Generate and distribute RAMS
  • Implement the Company Site Health and Safety policy
  • Manage site-based employees and sub-contractors, including allocation of responsibility
  • Conduct mandatory site inspections
  • Ensure site staff observe safety policies, including the use of PPE
  • Maintain financial control in accordance with quotations
  • Assist in the preparation of interim claims
  • Collate financial information for weekly review meetings
  • Provide line management to employees
