As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the implementation of cloud data platforms, IoT analytics, data integration, and migration projects. You will be responsible for delivering Data Solutions that support a robust data architecture framework, collaborating with Data Architects and Insight Analysts to ensure the orchestration of data pipelines and maintain data provenance, quality, and lineage.

Data Engineer (all levels)

  • Location: North East England (Hybrid working)
  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience & level
    • Data Engineer: £45,000 - £55,000
    • Senior Data Engineer: £55,000 - £65,000

Day to Day of the role:

  • Collaborate with Data Architects and Insight Analysts on cloud data warehouse and IoT analytics projects using cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline processes across various data layers and models.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code Solutions, adhering to source control best practices.
  • Manage workload using Agile delivery methods and provide coaching or mentoring as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and methodologies in cloud and data, and maintain relevant certifications.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring technical solutions meet their needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in data engineering or business intelligence roles.
  • Proficiency in ETL and data pipeline implementation, with a technology-agnostic approach.
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Azure Event Hubs, AWS Glue, AWS S3, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar technologies.
  • Understanding of data warehouse and data lake principles, and data modelling techniques.
  • Strong SQL skills and exposure to data engineering coding languages such as Python, R, or Spark.
  • Experience with backlog management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
