Design Draughtsperson
Job Purpose
To create detailed technical drawings and plans for complex subsea / renewable equipment handling systems, ensuring all designs meet industry standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Drawings: Produce accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings using CAD software.
- Design Development: Assist in the development of conceptual designs and detailed engineering solutions.
- Documentation: Prepare and review technical documentation, including design specifications and reports.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure designs are feasible and meet project requirements.
- Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Support: Provide technical support during the manufacturing and installation phases.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks).
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of fabrication design engineering principles and industry standards.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and a practical approach to problem-solving.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Education: A degree or diploma in engineering, design, or a related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in subsea equipment design or a general fabrication related field.
- Software Knowledge: Familiarity with 2D & 3D CAD modelling using AutoCAD, Inventor, Solid Works or similar, Microsoft Office suite.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.
- Location: Based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, with potential for occasional travel.
- Working Hours: Full-time.
