Electrical Technician- Rail experience required
Purpose:Responsible to Production Supervisor CSE for the correlation testing, installation and modifications and testing of signalling systems and equipment, and hand-back of this safety critical equipment. Also, for the installation testing and hand back of electrical and communication systems, media and equipment across the infrastructure in relation to both normal operational and safety critical functions. Additionally work with the Works Supervisor CS&E to transfer knowledge, understanding and experience in the electrical supervisory role and assets.
- The Technician will be responsible for liaising directly with other departments, including operations, maintenance and engineering regarding testing and handing back of signalling assets for the safe passage of trains, handing back of electrical assets adhering to 18th edition IET wiring regulations and any communications assets in line with the relevant standards.
- Carry out the role of Tester in Charge leading the correlation, installation and recovery of signalling/electrical/communications assets as required to ensure the safety of the line
- Carry out work safely and in accordance with the safe systems of work procedures, method statements or other relevant instructions
- Undertake work and associated duties for which you are trained and competent to include Lookout/PTS/WSC/Trainmaster/Machine Controller and specifically OLE switching duties
- Control and check the quality of work undertaken by others and confirm assets are compliant to standards.
- Accurately report all work completed/not completed and produce/maintain records and drawing as required
