Due to business growth, an exciting opportunity has been created for anElectronics and Controls Engineer to join our global clients Innovation/ R&D Department.

The main purpose of the role is to provide design and development support to the Electronics and Controls part of the business alongside more senior members of the team. You will be involved development of a variety of different processes including PCB Design, Microprocessors, Sensors and Communications.

Candidate will be degree qualified to Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with a demonstrable background in a similar role. Ideally candidates will be experienced using Altium, AutoCAD - Autodesk Inventor is advantageous

Experience of machine control systems/automation is an advantage but you will receive alot of on the job training to learn about all the required systems.

Hours - Monday - Thurs 0830 - 1700/ Friday 0830 - 12

Hybrid working available - 3 days in the office as a minimum

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for the development of electronic sub-systems and products, either directly or in conjunction with development partners. This will include electronic systems design, creation of the technical specifications and validation throughout the design process, testing, and final verification.

Experience with the following is a must for this role.

  • Microprocessors and digital electronics
  • Interfacing to sensors and systems
  • Communication standards (RS232,485, I2C, Ethernet, MODBUS etc.)
  • Fault finding at component and board level.
  • Use of test equipment (meters, scopes, data capture)
  • Soldering and wire assembly

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • Innovative mind and the ability to problem solve and generate new ideas.
  • Demonstrable background in Electronics / Controls Design
  • Experienced in use of Altium, AutoCAD Autodesk Inventor is advantageous
  • Clear technical writing and good record keeping.
