Reed Accountancy are delighted to be working with an amazing client in the legal sector who are seeking a Debt Recovery Team Leader to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is crucial for ensuring maximum client conversion and effective debt recovery. The successful candidate will lead a team of Debt Recovery Agents, ensuring that both monthly and annual targets are met.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Lead and manage a team of Debt Recovery Agents.
- Ensure the achievement of monthly and annual targets for client conversion and debt recovery.
- Identify and address training and development needs within the team.
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings with team members.
- Liaise with clients regarding their compensation claims.
- Perform residency and other relevant searches.
- Assess debtors’ ability to pay and negotiate accordingly.
- Handle the commencement of Pre-Action Protocols and issue Part 7 and Part 8 Proceedings.
- Draft court documents, including applications for Attachment of Earnings Orders and Charging Orders.
- Prepare witness statements and cases for trial.
- Maintain effective communication with in-house legal teams and other businesses within the group.
- Instruct and liaise with external agencies.
- Ensure compliance with Information Security Policies, including data confidentiality and the operational security of the Information Systems used.
- Uphold the core values of the organisation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 12 months experience leading a team.
- Proven experience in handling clients and managing the claims process.
- At least 12 months of litigation experience in debt recovery.
- Familiarity with claims arising from breach of contract.
- Thorough knowledge of Pre-Action Protocols and Civil Procedure Rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong motivational, coaching, and support skills.
- Experience working towards deadlines and performance objectives.
- Ability to assist with communicating vision, strategy, and demonstrating commercial awareness.
- Flexible approach to implementing change.
- Strong problem-solving skills through critical analysis and effective decision-making.
