Reed Accountancy are delighted to be working with an amazing client in the legal sector who are seeking a Debt Recovery Team Leader to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is crucial for ensuring maximum client conversion and effective debt recovery. The successful candidate will lead a team of Debt Recovery Agents, ensuring that both monthly and annual targets are met.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead and manage a team of Debt Recovery Agents.
  • Ensure the achievement of monthly and annual targets for client conversion and debt recovery.
  • Identify and address training and development needs within the team.
  • Conduct regular one-to-one meetings with team members.
  • Liaise with clients regarding their compensation claims.
  • Perform residency and other relevant searches.
  • Assess debtors’ ability to pay and negotiate accordingly.
  • Handle the commencement of Pre-Action Protocols and issue Part 7 and Part 8 Proceedings.
  • Draft court documents, including applications for Attachment of Earnings Orders and Charging Orders.
  • Prepare witness statements and cases for trial.
  • Maintain effective communication with in-house legal teams and other businesses within the group.
  • Instruct and liaise with external agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with Information Security Policies, including data confidentiality and the operational security of the Information Systems used.
  • Uphold the core values of the organisation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 months experience leading a team.
  • Proven experience in handling clients and managing the claims process.
  • At least 12 months of litigation experience in debt recovery.
  • Familiarity with claims arising from breach of contract.
  • Thorough knowledge of Pre-Action Protocols and Civil Procedure Rules.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong motivational, coaching, and support skills.
  • Experience working towards deadlines and performance objectives.
  • Ability to assist with communicating vision, strategy, and demonstrating commercial awareness.
  • Flexible approach to implementing change.
  • Strong problem-solving skills through critical analysis and effective decision-making.
