Air Freight Ops
Description
I am pleased to be partnering with a global NVOC/Container groupage specialist for export and import services with over 100 offices in more than 25 countries, they offer weekly services to various regions including USA, Central & South America, Mediterranean, Arabian Gulf, and more.
In January 2025 they launched their new airfreight division and are seeking an experienced airfreight operator to help build and develop the air ops department & team.
This is a brand new & exciting role where the successful candidate will be part of something very new and your input will be instrumental in how the department functions and driving the business forward.
This role would suit someone who has been working in an airfreight operations team and ready to take a step up so plenty of scope to grow as the company does.
Role Description
This is a full-time office-based role for an Airfreight Operations Romford / Essex.
The role involves managing day-to-day air freight operations on both import & export, coordinating shipments, ensuring timely deliveries, improving revenue GP, building client and supplier partnerships, and providing exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience working in air freight operations
- Experience in Export & Import Air Freight operations
- Experienced in cutting AWB’s, booking transport and working directly with airlines and GSA’s.
- Rate negotiation
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of international air freight regulations and procedures
- Experience with air freight software and systems
- Relevant certifications in logistics or supply chain management
- IATA DG Training (not essential)
- Customs clearance experience
- Commercial and pricing awareness and the ability to quote
