Elvet Recruitment have been appointed to recruit an Engineer for a leading house builder in the North East. Our client is a highly regarded developer who operate throughout the region.

This role will see you join the technical team, reporting to the Engineering Manager.

Main duties will include:

  • Ensuring a strong working partnership between site management, groundwork contractors, Technical and Commercial.
  • Being responsible for all office-based aspects of the engineering function during pre-commencement, through to completion and adoption.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Contracts Managers / Site Managers with infrastructure programming and delivery, together with drawing/specification coordination, statutory services, section agreements and associated legal processes.
  • Prepare site viability reports in line with current regulatory requirements for residential developments.
  • Analyse and resolve engineering issues as part of the planning application for sites.
  • Ensure compliance at all stages of each planning submission in line with the latest NHBCstandards.
  • Work with local authorities and utility providers to ensure all approvals required for site start are ready and available at the appropriate time.
  • Work on tenders and pre-start engineering documentation and oversee viability of each one.
  • Be on site and attend all relevant meetings relating to the procurement and approval of site infrastructure.

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Possess previous house building experience in a similar role and have the confidence and experience to run multiple projects at any one time.
  • AutoCAD experience is desirable but not essential and you should be able to demonstrate strong relationships with statutory bodies and local authorities in the area.

Salary and benefits depend on level of experience.
