Lead DevOps Engineer

Experis are looking for Lead Azure DevOps Engineers to join a large, highly funded statement of work for a well respected consultancy and government end client.

As an Azure DevOps Engineer at SFIA Level 5 (Lead), you will take an advisory and leadership role in designing, implementing, and optimising Azure DevOps solutions. You will ensure alignment with organisational objectives while advising on best practices, managing deployment pipelines, and driving automation initiatives to support high-quality, reliable, and secure delivery of IT services.

Essential skills

Leadership:

  • Define and implement Azure DevOps strategies, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and compliance standards.
  • Advise on the adoption of Azure DevOps best practices to enhance development and operations efficiency.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, providing guidance on DevOps culture and tools.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to mentor and upskill team members.

Automation and Pipeline:

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Azure DevOps pipelines for CI/CD.
  • Manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
  • Automate the provisioning and scaling of Azure services and resources to support application needs.

Technical:

  • GitLab CI/CD Pipelines
  • Pytest and Selenium
  • Kubernetes
  • Terraform
  • Azure Cloud/Azure DevOps
  • Shell/BASH/Python scripting
  • RHEL

Desirable:

  • Grafana
