Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the health education curriculum to meet the needs of all students, ensuring it aligns with national or local standards.
- Demonstrate leadership in designing and implementing engaging and evidence-based health education programs.
- Set high expectations that challenge and motivate students to take responsibility for their health and well-being.
- Promote positive outcomes for all pupils, ensuring inclusivity and access to high-quality learning opportunities.
- Lead and mentor a team of health education teachers, providing support and professional development.
- Maintain and review curriculum resources, ensuring that materials are current, relevant, and effective.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as physical education and pastoral care, to deliver a holistic approach to student well-being.
- Utilize assessment data to monitor progress and tailor learning strategies to support all students.
- Manage classroom behaviour to create a positive, respectful, and productive environment.
- Fulfil wider professional responsibilities within the Academy, including contributing to school-wide initiatives and participating in staff development programs.
We're Looking For Candidates Who:
- Have a strong vocational background within the Health or Social Care sector and a proven track record of leading and managing teams.
- Hold an honours degree (Level 6) or an industry-recognised qualification in Health, Social Care, or a related field.
- Possess or are committed to achieving a post-16 teaching qualification within an agreed timeframe.
- Hold Level 2 English and Maths qualifications (or be willing to attain them).
- Have a proven track record of leading and managing teams to achieve KPIs with an emphasis on high-quality higher education provision.
- Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all students.
- Build strong professional relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Are confident in using evidence-based pedagogy and focused on continuous improvement.
- Possess excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Are passionate about developing students' health and well-being and expanding their subject knowledge.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the latest trends and developments in health education.
