Female Support Worker
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: £14 per hour
Hours: 35 hours per week (term time only), Monday to Friday 08:45 – 15:45
Are you an experienced *female Support Worker with an interest in supporting a Client’s education or a SENCO who is looking for a new role both within and outside the school environment?

The Client
The Client is an 18 year old young lady who lives at home with her mother and sister. She has a bubbly and personable character with a great sense of humour and who approaches all of her lessons and activities with enthusiasm, positivity and determination.
The Client has bilateral cerebral palsy affecting all of her limbs and is not independently mobile and uses a wheelchair to get around and voca to communicate. She also requires help with personal care. The Client also has dysphagia and her nutritional needs are met via a gastrostomy.
Interests:
The Client is an inspirational young woman who easily forms good relationships on a personal or professional level with everyone she comes into contact with and is renowned for her caring personality and motivation to succeed. She is hoping to take on a mentoring role within the school so that she can use her natural abilities to help other students to settle into the school environment and help them to thrive with their studies.
In her spare time, the Client has an interest in fashion and likes reality TV shows like Love Island. She also likes to go to live shows, going shopping, swimming and browsing on social media.
The Role
They are looking for an experienced female Support Worker or SENCO to provide support to the Client with her studies during the school day. This may also include going into the hydrotherapy pool and will certainly include personal care during the school day. Experience of supporting clients with similar complex care needs would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be an advocate for the Client, ensuring that she is able to make her own choices and decisions. You should be willing to accept instructions and advice from the Client’s family, the teaching staff and also work alongside the Multidisciplinary Team in respect of therapy programmes.
Skills and Qualifications
- You should be a calm and patient individual who has excellent verbal and written communication skills to aid close liaison with the other professionals involved in the Client’s day-to-day life and to ensure daily care records are maintained accurately.
- You will need to be computer literate
- You should hold a full UK driving licence and have your own car.
