Are you someone who is passionate about the impact IT systems have on business performance who has strategic planning skills and experience but also enjoys being "hands on" in terms managing IT as a service and ensuring IT infrastructure and systems are stable and secure.

Our client is an established but growing SME delivering global services. We are seeking a Head of IT who will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and implementation of the company's IT systems and strategy.

Head of IT Key Responsibilities.

  • Manage daily operation of cloud based IT infrastructure
  • Ensure 3rd party are providing direct end user support effectively and efficiently.
  • Work closely with the management team in developing an IT Strategy, business plan and budget for IT services including management of asset register.
  • Manage 3rd party supplier relationships with software providers, hardware suppliers and manage all IT procurement activity.
  • Manage regular audits and ensure systems are stable and secure and remedy any issues. Ensure network recovery and backup processes are robust.
  • Evaluate risks and implement a Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plan and ensure it is tested regularly.
  • Stay up to date with the latest IT and cyber security trends and ensure accreditations are awarded and maintained.
  • Manage IT projects: proven ability to evaluate new and existing technologies, design and deliver IT projects on budget.

Head of IT Skills and Attributes

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 5 plus years, experience as in an IT leadership role in an SME environment.
  • Sound experience of managing cloud based infrastructure - Office 365, MS Azure.
  • Prior experience owning end to end IT function and developing successful IT strategies.
  • Sound experience of Office 365, MS Azure.
  • Experience of Sales Force, PowerPI, Xero advantages.
  • Experience in implementing strategies to drive change and opportunities for collaboration within an organization
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills - good communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.
  • Knowledge of or experience of Cyber Essentials environment.
  • Ability to work in a standalone role & drive business decision making
  • Strong time management skills, able to deal with multiple priorities
  • Line management experience desirable but not essential.
  • Must be eligible to work in U.K and be with a reasonable daily commute from the office.
