IT Support Engineer | Remote | Up to £30,000

This role is home-based with travel to customer sites in York and Strathaven

Jonathan Bosworth Recruitment is excited to be working with our client, a leading IT services provider, in their search for a Level 1 IT Support Engineer. This opportunity is ideal for a driven, customer-focused individual with a passion for technology, who enjoys working independently while being part of a virtual team. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and have a talent for solving complex issues, this role could be a perfect fit.

As 1st Line IT Support, you will provide both remote and onsite technical support to our client’s customers, ensuring fast, efficient resolutions. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll be translating technical information into clear, understandable terms for non-technical users.

Key Responsibilities:

You will deliver exceptional remote support via telephone and virtual tools, manage technical issues for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.

Prioritize and assess the impact of technical faults, escalating issues to 2nd and 3rd line teams when necessary.

Accurately log technical details in tickets, providing regular updates to ensure transparency and quick resolutions.

Create and update support documentation and knowledge base articles.

You will build strong relationships with customers and colleagues by delivering high levels of customer service and professionalism.

Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) and operational level agreements (OLAs) are proactively met.

Qualifications & Experience:

If you have a keen interest in IT with some qualifications but no commercial experience but are driven, confident, and want to develop your IT career then you will still be considered.

Ideally, you will have at least 1 years’ experience in a similar role offering remote and onsite support.

  • Understanding of Microsoft Cloud services, including:
    • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
    • Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900)
    • Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900)
    • Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102)
    • Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
  • ITIL 4 Foundation certification required.
  • Expertise with:

Microsoft Windows operating systems (desktop/server)

Microsoft 365 suite (user and group management, device management)

Microsoft Azure Active Directory and Endpoint Manager

  • Experience with IT service management (ITSM) platforms, such as ServiceNow.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  • Understanding of networking (TCP/IP) and hardware diagnostics.
  • Full driving license and access to your own vehicle, with a willingness to travel.

This is a home-based role, with travel required to customer locations in York and Strathaven. Travel to Strathaven will be once a month, with additional cover for 25 days annually in York.
