They need an experienced and seasoned manufacturing professional who is capable of managing, improving and leading their manufacturing facilities to include overseeing quality, engineering and new product development. The company’s Directors needs someone who is to become their trusted key individual, so all company goals and objectives are achieved, problems and issues are identified and resolved with immediacy and the right culture of ownership and empowerment is developed at all levels of the organisation.

The Job You’ll Do;

  • They key emphasis of this role is to ensure production is the very central focus of the business. You will be a natural hands-on leader who is very comfortable leading from the front, on the shop floor, as well as chairing meetings with your managers so discussions are heard, and action plans are implemented and are followed through.
  • You need to ensure the control of the production teams is delivered from the front, with continuous engagement with the staff to ensure they are motivated and will deliver the plan.
  • You will be experienced in working with a small planning team, to ensure all product orders are prioritised and achieve their delivery targets.
  • Provide proactive support in all areas, providing development, coaching and problem-solving in real time basis.
  • Liaise with the union representative onsite and develop positive relationships with all stakeholder
  • Ensure all quality, cost and delivery targets are achieved.
  • Provide effective delegation to the team of production supervisors.
  • Lead the start of shift meetings.
  • Attend weekly management meetings to discuss KPI’s, problems and solutions.
  • Ensure all budget targets are achieved.
  • Implement and lead a number of site improvement projects.
  • Manage all key functions including quality, engineering and product development.

About You; Ideal Candidate Profile

To succeed in this role, you should bring:

  • Extensive production management experience with a track record of leading quality, engineering, and new product development functions.
  • Adaptability and flexibility suited to a non-corporate SME environment, with the ability to tackle issues head-on and drive improvements swiftly.
  • Integrity and trustworthiness to act as a key advisor to company directors, providing honest and transparent operational updates and making sound business decisions.
  • High energy, drive, and positivity with a hands-on approach to managing teams and exceeding targets.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage at all levels within the organisation and foster a culture of ownership and empowerment.
