Job Description:
As a Press Toolmaker / Die Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and optimisation of a wide range of press tools and dies. Your primary focus will be ensuring production continuity by conducting preventative maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and implementing repairs on all tooling equipment. You will also collaborate with production teams to identify any tooling issues that may impact productivity, providing rapid resolutions to minimise downtime. Additionally, you will support new tool development, modifications, and continuous improvement projects within the plant.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of press tools and dies.
- Conducting preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
- Supporting new tool build and modifications as required.
- Working closely with production teams to identify and resolve tooling issues.
- Ensuring all tools and dies meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and reporting any recurring issues to management.
Skills & Experience:
To be successful as a Press Toolmaker / Die Maintenance Technician, you will need:
- Proven experience as a Press Toolmaker or in die maintenance.
- Strong mechanical skills, with knowledge of tool design and fabrication techniques.
- Experience working with power presses and understanding of press safety.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to fault-finding.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Formal qualifications in engineering, tooling, or a related discipline are desirable but not essential.
