If you’re a time served Mechanical Technician with manufacturing experience I’d be keen to speak to you about an opportunity with a major company in Newcastle working on a dayshift basis on a 9 day fortnight.

As a Mechanical Technician you will take an integral role in maintaining the operational integrity of the systems produced and serviced by my client. You’ll play a key part in ensuring that parts meet stringent quality standards, function optimally, and adhere to industry-specific requirements. Your expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining valves directly affects the reliability and safety of critical industrial processes.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and compliant construction and testing of products in strict accordance with all internal, customer and industry requirements.
  • Oversees the completion of spares needing pre-assembly and testing, facilitating progression to the Finals Technician. Accurately records any testing data and follows company standard recording procedures.
  • Proactively seeks to identify discrepancies and promptly brings them to the attention of the Senior Technician for resolution.
  • Conduct comprehensive checks on all available kits, addressing and resolving any shortages, and raising issues with ensuring prompt communication within the business. Provides timely updates to the Senior Technician and Operations Leads.
  • Demonstrates effective personal time management skills, ensuring optimal productivity.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of other departmental functions and their relation with the Operations department. Utilises this knowledge to ensure outputs are in line with requirements.
  • Utilises personal experience and knowledge to guide project outcomes for departmental colleagues.
  • Demonstrates a keen eye for detail when inspecting completed product for accuracy and quality.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience in an engineering or manufacturing role.
  • Desirable: Proficient in operating overhead cranes.
  • Desirable: Experience and competence in slinging and lifting operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or demonstrate a willingness to learn.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work well under pressure and within time constraints.
  • Shows a natural enthusiastic and innovative approach.
  • Apprentice qualified in a mechanical discipline.
