The Business Control Team enable safe growth within the Business & Commercial Division by working with key stakeholders across the business, supporting all product governance, embedding Consumer Duty and driving an enhanced risk and control profile.

It's an exciting time to join our team, we've laid the foundations and are focussed on accelerating risk and control management across the business; embedding our product governance standards, enhancing the product fair value framework and continuing to drive safe growth.

What you'll be doing

  • Support in the continued embedding and development of Consumer Duty within BAU including the Fair Value Framework, Issue Management and associated processes.
  • Develop, embed and evolve the Product & Fair Value Assessment Quality Assurance Framework.
  • Undertake efficient, evidence-based assurance of Product & Fair Value Assessments and periodic assurance reviews to identify potential impacts on fair value.
  • Communicating assurance findings, together with the materiality of the findings, and what is expected to mitigate or correct them.
  • Support business units with Consumer Duty requirements, controls mapping, reporting and support resolution and closure of issues to a satisfactory standard; including supporting closure of second and third line identified issues.
  • Support business units with new product / product change proposals through the product governance processes to ensure these are fully risk assessed against the L1 Risk Framework.
  • Reviewing internal and external range of inputs to develop and evolve the Commercial risk profile, and developing an understanding of the key control framework, in line with the requirements of the Senior Manager Regime.
  • Supporting delivery of accurate and timely escalated risk reporting to Commercial Leadership Team and corporate risk committees in line with the Group Risk Management Framework.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders professionally and with integrity to generate productive working relationships at all levels of seniority.

We need you to have

  • Consumer Duty and general Product Governance knowledge.
  • Practical experience of working within a risk and control environment and a strong understanding of Risk Management Frameworks.
  • A focus on detail along with the ability to present your findings to a senior audience in a clear and concise manner.
  • Resilience and confidence when operating in an environment where change is the norm.
  • A passion for understanding customers and ensuring they are at the heart of everything we do.
  • The ability to build effective relationships and the confidence to adapt these skills to communicate with a variety of peers and senior stakeholders across the Group.

It's a bonus if you have but not essential

  • In-depth regulatory and business practices knowledge relating to at least one Commercial Product.
  • Experience in establishing an assurance framework.
  • University Degree or equivalent Financial Services industry experience.
