Maintenance Team Leader Newcastle Manufacturing 4 on 4 off - days and nights £56,773 + overtime + company bonus Gi Pro are excited to join forces with a world-renowned manufacture based in West Newcastle!Job Role:As the Engineering Team Leader, you will be an inspirational leader of a multi-disciplined engineering team, who role models our clients core values at all times. Delivering the highest standards of health and safety, sustainability, cost control and multi-machine availability, whilst driving improved efficiencies in maintenance activities. Typical Duties will involve:Health, Safety & Wellbeing

  • Foster a culture where the health, safety, and wellbeing of colleagues are the top priority.
  • Ensure all direct reports understand and adhere to statutory obligations, company policies, and procedures at all times.
  • Monitor the progress of SHE Assure actions for the team.
  • Assist in developing Standard Safe Operating Procedures (SSOP) and Risk Assessments (RA).
  • Conduct reviews of Standard Safe Operating Procedures (SSOP).
  • Perform perimeter inspections.
  • Audit safety and machine checks.

Leadership

  • Provide visible leadership and engage the team to create and embed a culture of high performance and development.
  • Plan and implement training and development, including recruitment and succession plans, to build a flexible, effective multi-skilled team.
  • Coach and develop the team to maximize their strengths and address any development gaps.

Operational Excellence

  • Collaborate with the factory management team to implement the strategic plan for the site.
  • Monitor and manage departmental performance measures.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for any relevant non-conformances at the factory.
  • Implement and maintain world-class 5S standards within the engineering environment.
  • Prioritize work to meet production requirements, ensuring the engineering team responds effectively to breakdown situations.

Desirable experience

  • Time served; Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3) in Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance (or equivalent)
  • Has knowledge of current Health, Safety, Environmental and Employment legislation.
  • Is an outstanding team leader who is flexible, and meets challenge with a pragmatic and resilient approach.
  • Has strong influencing and engagement skills demonstrated through values based leadership and role modelling positive leadership behaviours.
  • A natural coach and team builder with exceptional interpersonal skills who enjoys developing and leading others to improve their performance.
  • Able to develop a capable and multi-discipline shift engineering team.
  • Can implement and drive performance improvement using Continuous Improvement tools & techniques.
  • Has the ability to analyse, interpret and present data to identify key trends and opportunities.
