Principal Software Developer - Northeast - C#, .Net, hybrid, 28 days holiday, chance to work with the latest technologies

The role

As a Principal Software Engineer, you'll take on the role of technical leader for projects, overseeing the development and upkeep of software systems throughout the entire technology stack. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and enhance robotics systems, driving innovation and expanding the limits of what can be achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Write and maintain code in C#, utilizing the .NET framework to produce reliable and scalable software solutions
  • Oversee the creation of software systems for robotic applications, ranging from embedded code to high-level systems integration
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers
  • Lead and manage projects, ensuring collaboration and solid communication

Requirements

  • Expertise in C# and the .Net framework
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with hardware and machinery, with a strong understanding of how software interacts with physical systems
  • Previous experience leading teams/mentoring other engineers
  • Degree in an engineering related field

Desirables

  • Strong background in working with microcontrollers and PLCs
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams on technical projects
  • 2+ years in a Lead/Principal position
