Assistant Operations Manager

Location: Newcastle-Under-Lyme

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am -5pm

Salary: up to £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Role Overview: 

Our client is seeking a motivated Assistant Operations Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity a proactive and solution orientated individual with a good eye for detail and passion for process improvement and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Operations Manager in managing daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient execution
  • Tracking and evaluating operational performance metrics, pinpointing opportunities for improvement
  • Leading and inspiring a team of five direct reports within the Warehouse and Customer Service teams to achieve objectives
  • Offering support and guidance to the operational team
  • Assisting with training and onboarding of new employees
  • Ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, and safety standards
  • Overseeing the maintenance of ISO9001:2015 quality management system and leading annual audits to uphold certification
  • Managing supplier compliance with Medical Device Legislation and maintaining proper records
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of new operational strategies
  • Conducting regulatory assessments and audits
  • Preparing and analysing operational reports, offering insights and recommendations
  • Tracking and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Presenting data and findings to management
  • Ensuring adherence to all relevant safety and regulatory requirements
  • Supporting the maintenance of accurate records

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience managing a team within an SME
  • Proven expertise in maintaining an ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System
  • Experience with ERP and WMS systems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Preferred qualification in Business Administration or a related field
