As a Maintenance Surveyor you’ll play a key role in helping us provide this for thousands of families across our communities. Working with families in their homes, you’ll help our team identify repairs and maintenance work managing the work from start to finish.

What you’ll bring to our team

Using your knowledge and expertise, you’ll be able to identify the work needed and find the best, most cost-effective solution. You’ll work closely with our in-house repairs team and external contractors to make sure the job gets completed to the highest standard, be on hand to answer questions and keep our families up to date on the work we are doing in their homes.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in building maintenance at a Local Authority or other Registered Social Landlord or a similar role or in the management and administration of domestic building repairs with a willingness to learn and develop their knowledge of the housing sector.

  • Excellent knowledge of building defect identification and rectification, damp and mould identification and remedy, the social housing sector, and compliance requirements, as well as building construction, building standards, planning regulations, regulatory standards, health and safety and other legislation relevant to repairs and maintenance.

  • Experienced in dealing with difficult customer facing situations, which require good communication skills, diplomacy and excellent customer service resolution skills services within a housing association or similar customer facing role.

  • Ability to work to strict deadlines within a busy multi-agency setting, delivering maintenance and repairs projects on time and in line with agreed budgets and supervising work undertaken by inhouse teams and external contractors.

  • Experience of undertaking Domestic Energy Assessments (EPC), alongside experience and or a qualification in fire safety and asbestos management would be an advantage.

Qualifications

  • HNC, HND, BTEC HND or higher, in a building discipline, or over five years’ experience in related repairs surveying or construction from a trade or technical background.

  • Full UK driving license and access to a car insured for business use.

  • A Domestic Energy Assessor qualification would be an advantage.

  • P402 asbestos management qualification would be an advantage.
