Estimator - Civil Engineering Projects - South WalesRandstad are recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join a growing civil engineering contractor in Newport. This is a long-term freelance contract role offering a competitive rate and the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects. Key Highlights:

Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for various aspects of civil engineering projects, including materials, labor, plant, and overheads.
* Analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements.* Develop and maintain cost control systems and procedures.* Track and manage project costs, identifying potential variations and risks.* Prepare and present cost reports to management, highlighting key cost trends and variances.* Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.* Assist with the preparation of project bids and tenders. Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator within the civil engineering industry.
* A strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost drivers within the civil engineering sector.* Experience working on complex civil engineering projects.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.* Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage budgets and costs effectively.Desirable Qualifications:* Experience working with leading civil engineering specialists in the UK.* Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards for civil engineering works.* Experience using industry-standard software for cost estimation and quantity surveying.
