Back to searchI am recruiting for a lovely nursery in Newport who are looking for a Nursery Cook to work Monday - Friday 9.00-16.00.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* To prepare, cook and transport meals within a large nursery setting, to the required healthy eating standard, ensuring appropriate cultural & dietary requirements are met
* To ensure all aspects of the Nursery food areas are kept clean and tidy at all times in line with the Occupational Health Regulations
* Record required temperatures of the refrigeration equipment and children's meals
* Assist in the development of menus and incorporating healthy eating
* The post holder will be expected to participate in training designed to develop skills and minimise occupational risks. This will include occasional staff training days outside normal working hours
* To be team focused and be polite and helpful to parents and colleagues and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the Nursery, whilst nurturing a good team spirit between different departments
* To have a flexible attitude to working hours, providing the necessary cover for staff during days off, holidays and sickness as requested by the Nursery Management team.
* To ensure the monitoring of ingredients at all times in line with allergens.
* To follow a strict red plate and sign out procedure in line with our allergy policy and procedure.
Requirement for the role as the Nursery Cook:
* Level 2 in Food Hygiene Certificate
* Experience of working in a busy kitchen.
* Experience of food preparation and assisting in the development of children's menu, incorporating healthy eating.
* Experience of cooking for 6 weeks to school age children.
* Ability to record temperature of the refrigeration equipment and children's meal.
* Flexible attitude to working hours.
* Team focused and welcoming to all.
